Abstract
The article discusses a study on Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) conducted in Montreal, Canada, which investigates the effectiveness of transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) combined with online cognitive training to improve cognitive functions and psychosocial outcomes in adults with BPD. The study involved 29 participants who underwent 10 sessions of tDCS while engaging in cognitive training using the Lumosity app. Results indicated significant improvements in cognitive performance, emotional regulation, and a reduction in BPD symptoms, although impulsivity did not show significant change. The findings suggest the potential of integrating neuropsychological interventions targeting the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) for BPD treatment, while noting the need for further controlled studies to confirm these preliminary results.
