Abstract
This article focuses on the implementation of eHealth Familias Unidas Primary Care (eHealth FUPC), a culturally tailored, family-based online intervention designed to prevent substance use, sexual risk behaviors, and sexually transmitted infections among Hispanic adolescents. The program was integrated into pediatric primary care clinics in South Florida, with efforts to engage clinic administrators and personnel to facilitate adoption and address organizational barriers. Preliminary findings from prior school-based trials indicate that eHealth Familias Unidas effectively reduces drug use among Hispanic youths, though effects on sexual risk behaviors were not observed. The study highlights the importance of culturally relevant prevention programs in trusted healthcare settings and discusses strategies for sustaining the intervention within diverse primary care environments.
