Abstract
This article focuses on a case report of liver injury and impaired blood coagulation in a pregnant woman following consumption of raspberry leaf tea (RLT), highlighting a rare adverse drug reaction. The 35-year-old patient developed significant hepatocellular injury and coagulation abnormalities after increasing RLT intake late in pregnancy, with liver function normalizing postpartum after treatment. The authors suggest that drug-induced liver injury (DILI) from RLT, assessed as "probable" by the Roussel Uclaf Causality Assessment Method (RUCAM), should be considered in differential diagnoses of liver dysfunction during pregnancy. They emphasize the need for further research on RLT’s safety and mechanisms of hepatotoxicity, as well as the importance of reporting herbal adverse reactions to regulatory authorities.
