Abstract

The article examines the involvement of women in radicalism and violence within Indonesia’s religious conflicts, focusing on both Muslim and Christian women from a feminist perspective. It highlights that while women have traditionally been victims of conflict-related violence, many Muslim women have also become perpetrators in radical movements, often influenced by patriarchal culture, religious indoctrination, and socio-economic factors. In contrast, research on Christian women in Indonesia shows a predominant inclination toward peaceful responses and positive radicalism, emphasizing forgiveness and reconciliation despite experiencing discrimination. The article advocates for pastoral care, peace education, and women’s empowerment programs to prevent radicalization and promote women as agents of peace in diverse religious communities.
