Abstract
The article discusses a proposal by the Union Finance Minister to enhance medical tourism in India through the establishment of five regional medical hubs in collaboration with the private sector. These hubs will integrate healthcare, education, and research facilities, including AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy) centres and medical value tourism facilitation centres. The initiative aims to create job opportunities for health professionals and strengthen Ayurveda's global recognition, alongside plans to establish three new All India Institutes of Ayurveda and upgrade existing AYUSH pharmacies and drug testing labs. Additionally, there is a proposal to enhance the WHO Global Traditional Medicine centre in Jamnagar to support research and training in traditional medicine. [Extracted from the article]
