Abstract

The article focuses on a study evaluating the effectiveness of Brief Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy (BTAP) for individuals with mild to moderate depression. Conducted by the Metanoia Institute in London, the research compared BTAP to Brief Cognitive Behavior Therapy (BCBT) and Care As Usual (CAU) therapies, measuring outcomes such as depression, anxiety, distress, and quality of life. Results indicated that BTAP significantly improved mental health outcomes compared to CAU and was comparable to BCBT, suggesting its potential as a promising treatment for depression, although further validation is needed. The study was financially supported by the European Association of Transactional Analysis and has undergone peer review. [Extracted from the article]
