Abstract
The article focuses on the impact of androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) on cognitive function in elderly men with prostate cancer. A prospective cohort study of 85 elderly patients at Ain Shams University found that after six months of ADT, 57.6% exhibited mild cognitive impairment, particularly in visuospatial, language, recall, and attention domains, and 27% developed depression, all of whom also had cognitive decline. The study recommends regular cognitive and depression screening for prostate cancer patients receiving ADT, along with cognitive training to help preserve or improve cognitive abilities.
