Abstract
The article focuses on the ongoing polio vaccination campaign in Gaza amid intense conflict following the outbreak of poliovirus in a 10-month-old child. Health organizations including the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, the Palestinian Ministry of Health, and Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) have administered the first dose to approximately 560,000 children, with a second dose planned to ensure vaccine effectiveness. The campaign faces significant challenges such as mass displacement, damaged infrastructure, restricted movement due to security concerns, and limited humanitarian pauses for vaccination activities. Despite these obstacles, health workers remain committed to the effort, emphasizing the critical need for high coverage to stop the outbreak and restore broader childhood immunization services in the region.
