Abstract

This article focuses on a study conducted at Usak University in Turkiye that evaluated a literature-based intervention to enhance psychological mindedness among undergraduate counseling students. Psychological mindedness refers to the ability to understand one’s own and others’ internal psychological processes, a key skill for mental health professionals. The intervention involved weekly reading and discussion sessions based on Irvin D. Yalom’s book *When Nietzsche Wept* over seven weeks, resulting in significant and sustained improvements in psychological mindedness compared to a control group. The study supports the use of experiential, literature-based methods in counselor education to develop reflective professional competencies. [Extracted from the article]
