Abstract
This article focuses on evaluating family-centered care (FCC) practices in the auricular reconstruction process for children with congenital microtia at a specialized center in Beijing, China, from the perspectives of parents and nurses. Using the Measure of Processes of Care (MPOC-20) for parents and the Measure of Processes of Care for Service Providers (MPOC-SP) for nurses, the study found generally positive ratings, especially in providing specific and general information and respectful care. However, both groups identified the need for improvement in Coordinated and Comprehensive Care (CCC) and Showing Interpersonal Sensitivity (SIS), highlighting gaps in long-term follow-up and consistent multidisciplinary support. The findings suggest future efforts should focus on standardizing care protocols, integrating auditory and psychological interventions, and enhancing continuity of care through multidisciplinary teams, potentially supported by mobile health technologies.
