Abstract
The article focuses on a dramatic scene at a location known as the Suicide Spot, where a group of teenagers, including a boy and a girl named Selva, confront the emotional turmoil stemming from societal pressures and personal struggles in a post-empire city. The boy, initially prepared to take his life, is persuaded by Guardians—trained peers meant to support troubled youth—to reconsider his decision through a heartfelt dialogue about the impact of his absence on others. Selva, who later ascends the gallows, expresses her frustrations with her father's beliefs and the societal expectations that have shaped her life, ultimately revealing her internal conflict and desire for change. The scene highlights the themes of despair, the search for identity, and the struggle against oppressive societal norms. [Extracted from the article]
