Abstract
The article focuses on evaluating surgical techniques and outcomes in thyroidectomy and breast cancer treatment. In a study of 100 patients undergoing thyroidectomy for benign and malignant goiter, the use of carbon nanoparticle (CN) injection significantly reduced postoperative hypocalcemia compared to the conventional technique. Another study assessed skin-sparing mastectomy (SSM) and nipple-sparing mastectomy (NSM) with immediate subcutaneous silicon implant reconstruction in 15 women with early-stage breast cancer, finding the procedures safe with acceptable complication rates and satisfactory cosmetic outcomes. Additionally, the pedicled descending branch latissimus dorsi mini-flap (LDMF) technique was evaluated for breast volume replacement after wide local excision, demonstrating low complication rates, sensory preservation, and avoidance of implants, thus extending breast-conserving options. These findings contribute to surgical decision-making and patient management in thyroid and breast cancer care.
