Abstract
This article focuses on the clinical evaluation of wedge-shaped implants for full-arch rehabilitation in a patient with severe maxillary horizontal atrophy. The case report describes the use of minimally invasive, rectangular-section titanium implants placed without bone augmentation procedures, supported by piezoelectric osteotomy and monitored through implant stability quotient (ISQ) and marginal bone loss (MBL) over a one-year follow-up. Results indicated satisfactory implant stability, minimal postoperative discomfort, and limited bone loss, suggesting wedge-shaped implants as a potential alternative to conventional bone augmentation or narrow-diameter implants in managing severe maxillary atrophy. The authors note the need for longer-term studies and larger case series to confirm the reliability and survival of this implant design.
