Abstract
The article focuses on a case study detailing a 12-year-old boy with a loss-of-function variant in the MAP1B gene, associated with severe elimination disorders despite normal intelligence. Conducted by researchers from the Mexican Social Security Institute in Guadalajara, Mexico, the study highlights the boy's symptoms, including attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), short stature, and microcephaly, alongside normal cognitive development and hearing. The findings suggest that elimination disorders, often linked to fragile X syndrome (FXS), should also be considered in individuals with pathogenic variants like MAP1B. The research broadens the understanding of the phenotypic spectrum related to this syndrome. [Extracted from the article]
