Abstract
This article focuses on evaluating the effects of a mobile health (mHealth)-based mindfulness intervention on trait mindfulness, stress, anxiety, and depression among Registered Nurses caring for COVID-19 patients in Jordan. Using a randomized controlled pretest–posttest design with 102 nurses at King Abdullah University Hospital, the experimental group received five weekly 30-minute mindfulness sessions via WhatsApp, while the control group received no intervention during the study period. Results showed that the intervention significantly increased trait mindfulness and reduced stress and depression compared to controls, with anxiety reductions observed but not reaching statistical significance between groups. The study supports the potential of mHealth-delivered mindfulness as a holistic approach to improving psychological well-being among nurses in high-stress healthcare settings, while noting limitations such as single-site sampling, self-report measures, and lack of follow-up.
