Abstract

The article focuses on comparing two models of live supervision in family therapy training: the Supervisor-guided model and the Collaborative Team model. The study aims to differentiate these models, examine learning processes within each, and investigate the skill development of trainees. Findings indicate that the Collaborative Team model fosters a more interdependent learning environment, empowering trainees to take on greater responsibility and ownership of their learning, while the Supervisor-guided model maintains a more hierarchical structure, leading to a dependent learning style. The research highlights the importance of physical setup, group dynamics, and the integration of didactic training in enhancing the effectiveness of live supervision in family therapy.
