Abstract
The article focuses on the role of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) pharmacists in treating opioid use disorder (OUD). Topics include number of clinical pharmacist practitioners (CPPs) with the VA who are registered with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to prescribe controlled substances, characteristics of VA CPPs providing OUD care, and factors that drove the passage of the Mainstreaming Addiction Treatment (MAT) Act.
