Abstract
This article focuses on research conducted in Saale, Germany, examining the relationship between failure-related state orientation (AOF) and self-esteem changes during inpatient addiction treatment for illicit drug addiction. The study, supported by Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg, found that higher AOF was linked to lower emotional, social, and body-related self-esteem, while these aspects of self-esteem improved significantly over a 24-week treatment period; performance-related self-esteem showed no significant change. The research suggests that future studies should explore strategies to enhance self-esteem specifically in state-oriented individuals undergoing addiction treatment. [Extracted from the article]
