Abstract

The article discusses research on the relationship between internet addiction (IA) and non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) among adolescents, highlighting the roles of social anxiety and depression. Conducted with 692 high school students in Heilongjiang Province, China, the study found a significant positive correlation between IA and NSSI, with social anxiety and depression acting as mediators. Additionally, trait meta-mood was identified as a moderator, influencing the strength of the mediation pathway. The findings emphasize the importance of emotional regulation in addressing the mental health risks associated with internet addiction in adolescents. [Extracted from the article]
