Abstract
This article focuses on the development and evaluation of an online psychoeducation group for caregivers of children with tic disorders, including Tourette's Syndrome (TS), by Hywel Dda University Health Board’s Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). The group aims to improve caregivers’ understanding of tics and TS, enhance coping strategies, and foster peer support, addressing longstanding barriers to accessing specialized care. Feedback from participants indicated increased knowledge and reduced isolation, though engagement varied and caregivers expressed a desire for more age-specific content and inclusion of young people in sessions. The article highlights the potential benefits of such interventions while recommending incorporation of lived experience, hybrid delivery formats, and outcome measures to better assess long-term impacts on families and young people.
