Abstract

A recent study conducted by Queen Mary University of London focused on pharmacogenetics and adverse drug reactions in the United Kingdom. The research highlighted the potential benefits of genetic testing in reducing adverse drug reactions, particularly in psychiatric and cardiovascular medications. The study found that a panel of three pharmacogenes could potentially mitigate a significant portion of pharmacogenetics-modifiable adverse drug reactions. The researchers suggested that implementing pharmacogenetics in psychiatry could have a substantial impact on reducing adverse drug reactions and associated costs. [Extracted from the article]
