Abstract

The article focuses on three medical studies conducted at Ain Shams University in Cairo, addressing cardiovascular and psychiatric health issues. The first study examines the relationship between ischemic heart disease and female sexual dysfunction in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention, finding universal sexual dysfunction in both intervention and non-intervention groups, influenced by factors such as menopausal status and cultural attitudes. The second study investigates suicide risk among Egyptian male patients with substance use disorder during the COVID-19 pandemic, identifying personality disorders, polysubstance use, and family history of addiction as significant risk factors. The third study evaluates the safety and efficacy of simultaneous bilateral internal carotid artery stenting in patients with bilateral extracranial carotid stenosis, reporting a low complication rate and no post-procedural strokes or major adverse events.
