Abstract

This study investigates Australian community pharmacists' perspectives on digital health interventions, focusing on adoption rates, benefits, and barriers, particularly regarding tele-pharmacy. A national online survey of 118 pharmacists revealed widespread use of digital tools such as e-prescriptions (97%) and electronic health records (85%), with reported benefits including improved access to patient information and enhanced patient care quality. However, challenges such as technical issues, data security concerns, and limited financial incentives hindered broader telehealth adoption, which was reported by only 16% of respondents. The findings highlight the need for increased digital health education, regulatory support, and financial incentives to facilitate effective integration of digital health services in community pharmacy practice across Australia.
