Abstract
The article focuses on a study investigating anxiety and depression among primary healthcare workers (PHWs) in urban and rural settings in China following the Coronavirus Disease 2019 pandemic. Conducted by researchers from Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, the cross-sectional study involved 3,769 PHWs across 31 provinces and identified key mental health risk factors, including occupational satisfaction, self-rated health, and family living arrangements. The findings revealed significant differences in these factors based on urbanicity, with tailored mental health interventions recommended to address the disparities between urban and rural PHWs.
