Abstract

The article focuses on the tsunami warnings issued following a powerful magnitude 8.7 earthquake that occurred off the eastern coast of Russia. The earthquake, located southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, prompted tsunami warnings for Hawaii and parts of Alaska, as well as a tsunami watch extending from the California-Mexico border to Chignik Bay, Alaska, and including Guam. Additionally, the warning system indicated potential tsunami threats to Japan, the Philippines, Russia, and various Pacific islands such as Yap and the Marshall Islands. [Extracted from the article]
