Abstract
Anastasia Stouraiti's book "War, Communication, and the Politics of Culture in Early Modern Venice" explores the impact of the War of the Morea on Venetian society and politics. Stouraiti argues that the war was essential in understanding Venice's overseas expansion and domestic political culture. Through various mediums of communication, including literature, visual arts, and historical representations, the book illustrates how culture, military expansion, and domestic politics intersected during this period. The book makes a significant contribution to Venetian historiography and early modern communication and information history. [Extracted from the article]
