Abstract

The article focuses on Vidkun Quisling, a Norwegian Nazi collaborator whose name became synonymous with treason. Born in 1887, Quisling rose through military and political ranks, eventually forming the fascist party Nasjonal Samling (National Gathering) in 1933. During World War II, he attempted to seize power in Norway with German support, leading to his appointment as 'minister president' under the German occupation. Quisling's regime was marked by anti-Semitic policies and repression, culminating in his arrest and execution for treason after the war, where he maintained his actions were in Norway's best interest.
