Abstract

This article focuses on a study from Guilin Tourism University in Guangxi, People's Republic of China, examining the educational benefits of rock climbing in Chinese higher education. Using constructivist learning theory and the PERMA+IT framework of positive psychology, the research found that rock climbing enhances students' emotional, cognitive, and relational development, fostering positive emotions, resilience, reflective thinking, and a sense of community. The study highlights rock climbing as an effective experiential learning tool that integrates physical challenge with psychological growth and connection to nature.
