Abstract
This article reviews Georges Van Vrekhem's book *Hitler and his God: The Background to the Nazi Phenomenon*, which examines the influence of Darwinism and evolution-based racism on Adolf Hitler's anti-Semitism and genocidal ideology. The book argues that Social Darwinism provided a scientific rationale for Nazi beliefs in Aryan racial superiority and justified the Holocaust and territorial conquest during World War II. Van Vrekhem contends that Hitler was influenced by proponents of Darwinism rather than Darwin's original works and that the rejection of a Biblical worldview enabled the rise of Nazi racial ideology. The review highlights the book's detailed research and its relevance for understanding the historical roots of modern anti-Semitism and the consequences of rejecting creationist perspectives.
