Abstract

The article discusses the phenomenon of military dictatorships and their impact on international economic relations. It highlights the distinction between overt military dictatorships and those that operate behind the scenes in a stealthy manner. The article argues that both types of dictatorships undermine the rule of law, transparency, democratic institutions, and human rights. It also examines the role of major powers like China and the United States in shaping the economic direction of countries like Pakistan. The article calls for stricter enforcement of foreign trade laws and human rights legislation, as well as the development of legal scholarship to address the challenges posed by military dictatorships.
