Abstract
The article examines the limits of the face, the legal aspect of resemblance and the objects that cross the border between art and law. It describes the case of Constantin Brancusi's sculpture "Bird in Paradise" that U.S. Customs would not recognize as art and taxed it, which led to a lawsuit that updated what Customs considers art. It also discusses visa-photo requirements concerning the face.
