Abstract

The article focuses on the significant contributions of Professor Raymond Dart to the fields of anthropology and archaeology, particularly through his 1925 paper on Australopithecus africanus, which challenged prevailing views on human evolution. Dart's discovery, initially met with skepticism, ultimately reshaped scientific understanding of human ancestry, asserting that hominid ancestors originated from Africa rather than Europe or Asia. The article also highlights a centenary seminar held in June 2025 at The University of Queensland, where experts presented papers in honor of Dart's legacy. Dart's work has had lasting impacts not only in science but also in philosophy and theology. [Extracted from the article]
