Abstract
The article focuses on the upcoming Pullman Railroad Days event, hosted by the Historic Pullman Foundation (HPF) and the Pullman National Historical Park (PNHP) on May 20-21. The event features tours of historic Pullman railcars from the 1920s to 1950s, neighborhood and factory site tours, a locomotive simulator, and children’s activities, highlighting Pullman’s industrial heritage and craftsmanship. It also notes the historical significance of Pullman, Illinois, a model industrial town founded by sleeping car magnate George Pullman in 1880-81, and mentions HPF’s 50th anniversary and ongoing preservation efforts. Additionally, the article includes information on the Illinois State Historical Society’s Sesquicentennial Houses of Worship program and its upcoming awards luncheon recognizing contributions to Illinois history.
