Abstract

India is preparing to launch its new meteorological satellite, INSAT-3DS, into orbit on February 17th. The satellite, funded by the Ministry of Earth Sciences, is designed to enhance meteorological observations and monitor land and ocean surfaces for weather forecasting and disaster warning. It will work alongside the currently operational INSAT-3D and INSAT-3DR satellites to provide improved weather forecasts and meteorological services. The mission's objectives include monitoring Earth's surface, conducting oceanic observations, providing meteorological parameter profiles, enabling data collection and dissemination, and offering satellite-aided search and rescue services.
