Abstract
Rocky Jones, a Black activist from Truro, Nova Scotia, is the subject of a new play called Keeping Up With The Joneses, written by Andrew Craig. The play, funded by the John Bragg Award, tells the story of Rocky and his wife Joan's advocacy and activism for human rights, particularly for Black and Indigenous communities in Nova Scotia. Rocky and Joan were instrumental in founding organizations such as Kwacha House and the Black United Front of Nova Scotia. The play will debut at Halifax's Neptune Theatre in 2026.
