Abstract

The Azerbaijani space agency, Azercosmos, has partnered with small island states and other vulnerable member countries of the Commonwealth of Nations to support climate-related activities. This collaboration involves using space technologies and geographic data to analyze and assess climate change activities. The program includes activities such as monitoring drought levels, classifying cultivated areas, comprehensive forest monitoring, and measuring methane concentration. The partnership aims to enhance knowledge and skills in remote sensing and geographic information systems, strengthen climate resilience, and support sustainable development. This program will be presented as a roadmap for Commonwealth member states at COP29 in Baku and future climate change events. [Extracted from the article]
