Abstract

The article focuses on Salvador Dalí's participation in a symposium at New York's Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in January 1958, which was part of the exhibition showcasing the work of Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí. Although Dalí was unable to attend in person due to health issues, he delivered a recorded speech that critiqued contemporary art critics and their misconceptions about Gaudí's work. Dalí expressed his admiration for Gaudí, defended his legacy against detractors, and emphasized the importance of Gaudí's influence on modern art. The article also highlights the contrasting perspectives between Dalí and other prominent figures in the art community present at the symposium. [Extracted from the article]
