Abstract
The article focuses on a proposed framework for developing collective leadership among public health and primary care professionals to enhance integration and advance population health equity. It emphasizes leadership as a dynamic, shared process involving collaborative leader behaviors, collective efficacy (the shared belief in a group's ability to achieve goals), and collective performance across individuals and organizations. The framework builds on existing leadership theories and programs, advocating for leadership development that moves beyond individual cognitive skills to include communication, relational, and affective competencies necessary for cross-sector collaboration. Recommendations include incorporating this framework into leadership programs to strengthen workforce capacity for intersectoral collaboration, while acknowledging challenges such as differing professional norms and organizational structures.
