Abstract
The author examines the works of novelist Bruce Chatwin including "In Patagonia," "On the Black Hill" and "Utz." Topics include comments on the talismanic object used by Chatwin in "In Patagonia," Chatwin's journey through the southernmost region of Chile and Argentina as documented in the novel, and the depiction of a harlequin figurine in his final novel "Utz."
