Abstract
In June 1922, Marcus Garvey, a Jamaican-born leader of the Universal Negro Improvement Association, met with the Ku Klux Klan's acting Imperial Wizard, Edward Young Clarke, in Atlanta. Garvey advocated for a separate country for Black people in Africa, believing that integration was a sham. Despite facing criticism and opposition, Garvey's vision and legacy had a significant impact on the political consciousness of Africans and people of African descent worldwide.
