Abstract
The article reports on the two offensives targeting ethnic Hutu-dominated National Liberation Front (FLN) in Kibira forest, Cibitoke province near Rwandan border conducted by the Burundi military on May 9, 2025. The military stated that they killed over 100 FLN fighters while losing ten soldiers. Authorities said that the operations against FLN were part ofa broader effort to stabilise border.
