Abstract
This article focuses on the development and empirical testing of the Team Learning Cycle (TLC), a framework designed to integrate and evaluate the coherence among basketball team strategy, training practices, and game performance. Using a case study of a national under-19 men's basketball team, the TLC framework systematically measured team plays across planning, practice, and competition phases, supported by a customized software system called the Basketball Strategy e-Science System (BASES). Results showed that while the most frequently practiced play clusters were not the most used in the game, the plays performed most often had the highest efficiency, suggesting that TLC can assist coaches in interpreting team learning processes and optimizing preparation. The study highlights the potential of TLC to enhance decision-making by linking strategic planning, training emphasis, and competitive outcomes in youth basketball.
