Abstract
The article focuses on the historical significance and cultural impact of the 1964-1965 New York World's Fair, highlighting its role in fostering optimism during a turbulent era in American history. Despite occurring amid Cold War tensions, civil rights struggles, and political upheaval, the fair showcased technological innovations such as IBM's early computer and NASA's space exhibits, offering visitors a hopeful vision of the future. It also served as a unifying cultural event that left lasting impressions on attendees and boosted morale during difficult times. The article suggests that, given current societal challenges in 2024, a similar world's fair could provide a shared sense of optimism and inspire innovation.
