Abstract
The article focuses on the ongoing conflict between India and Pakistan, particularly regarding the contested region of Kashmir, which is viewed by the Pakistan Army as essential to the nation's identity and survival. The narrative surrounding Kashmir has been a cornerstone of Pakistan's military and political discourse since the country's inception in 1947, with the military leveraging the conflict to justify its significant political power and resources. The article discusses how Pakistan employs asymmetric warfare and nonstate actors to challenge India, while also highlighting the cyclical nature of violence and escalation between the two nations, exacerbated by nuclear capabilities. It concludes by noting the international community's hesitance to impose punitive measures on Pakistan, which continues to use terrorism as a tool of foreign policy. [Extracted from the article]
