Abstract

The author discusses teaching about the Boston Tea Party in her history class at Baylor University by requiring students to read about the event, write a lengthy research paper and stage a costumed interpretation of the event to educate the general public. It explains the history of the Boston Tea Party, the preparation for offering the course and its structure and implementation. It describes the advantages of the course and the challenges posed by the approach used to teach it.
