Abstract

Cimafunk's CimaFest, held in New Orleans, is a celebration of Afro-Cuban soul and funk music that connects different musical traditions. The festival features a lineup of talented musicians, including Afro-Cuban percussionist Pedrito Martinez, flautist and vocalist La Dame Blanche, pianist Chucho Valdés, and New Orleans icon Big Freedia. The performances are energetic and joyful, showcasing the common heritage and spirit found in Black music.
