Abstract

The article features an interview with a historian specializing in Nazi Germany, who explains their motivation rooted in family stories from World War II and emphasizes the complexity of past and present events. The historian highlights influential works such as Ian Kershaw's biography of Adolf Hitler and Claudia Koonz's *Mothers in the Fatherland*, and notes a broadened understanding of resistance among victims of Nazi persecution. They address common misconceptions about the Nazi regime, identify underrated and overrated historical figures, and express interest in environmental history and archival resources like the German Federal Archives. The historian also recommends cultural works related to the period and expresses curiosity about the existence of a written Führer order for the "Final Solution."
