Abstract

A new exhibition at the Musée d’histoire de Nantes in France is dedicated to Genghis Khan and the Mongol Empire. The exhibition showcases 450 objects, including some that have never been displayed in the West before. It explores the formation, impact, and legacy of the Mongol Empire, highlighting how the Mongols interacted with the rest of the world. The exhibition features objects from national collections of Mongolia as well as loans from museums across Europe. It examines the Pax Mongolica, a period of peace within the empire that facilitated the exchange of artistic and scientific cultures from East to West. The exhibition is open until May 5, 2024.
