Abstract
The article focuses on a large-scale overnight attack by Russia using loitering munitions against Ukraine, coinciding with Ukraine's commemoration of the 90th anniversary of the Holodomor, a famine in 1932-1933 caused by Soviet leader Josef Stalin's policies. Ukraine's air defense intercepted most of the drones and a cruise missile, but the attack still caused power outages, property damage, and injuries in Kyiv and surrounding areas. The Holodomor, which led to the deaths of at least 7 million Ukrainians, is recognized as genocide by multiple countries and organizations, though Russia denies it was man-made. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy described the attack as deliberate terror linked to Russia's leadership.
