Abstract
Joe Lieberman, a former US senator and vice presidential nominee, has died at the age of 82. Lieberman represented Connecticut in the Senate from 1989 to 2013 and gained national attention when he was chosen as Al Gore's running mate in the 2000 presidential election. Throughout his career, Lieberman was known for his willingness to break with his party, including his support for the Iraq War and his endorsement of John McCain for president in 2008. Despite his controversial positions, Lieberman remained a respected figure in American politics. [Extracted from the article]
